THIS time we are going to discuss some ways we can deal with this scenario, because there ARE ways we can combat this very present evil in our midst. In fact, after reading that article, I have room for all kinds of stuff in my bathroom drawers again.
This is me, going through my lotions, potions, creams and sauces..... "oh but I paid like TEN dollars for that one... and So-and-So GAVE me this lovely smelling skin lotion..." and then I see the big 'C' guy leering around the door with that evil grin his face and smoosh, into the garbage they go.... =)
Okay, enough of the doom and gloom stuff.... I actually have some VERY good and refreshing news about all this today.
Did you know that the muscadine grape see has the HIGHEST rating of ORAC levels among many well known fruits, berries and juices...?
I don't consider myself that qualified to discuss these things, I am not a doctor or don't have any certifications in this kind of thing, but it really is not rocket science.
Oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) is a method of measuring antioxidant capacities in biological samples of foods and supplements and it is actually a very interesting study if you google it.
Brunswick Laboratories is an individual company that conducts these testings for companies, especially when they have a new product to introduce to the market, and beings they are an individual company, they have no vested interest in any particular product so you can't 'buy' them off just so they rig the machines for your particular product.
The picture at the right tells it all, but in case you can't read it, what they found when they tested the muscadine grape SEEDS and SKINS, they found it went off the charts on the ORAC scale.
Which is exciting and VERY good news especially in the light of what we were discussing earlier about all the junk that is in the skin care nowadays.
There is a huge difference in those two...
Did you know that in order to slap that label "non-toxic" on a product, all they need is for less than 50% of the critters they tested the product on to die within the first two weeks after testing.
Seriously.
Even if 49% of the rats or mice keel over and die within two weeks of testing, they can STILL slap that 'non-toxic' label onto the product because it was less than 50%... and what if THAT 50% keels over AFTER the two week trial period...?
Nobody cares.
They got their label.
That was all they were after.
Not your health or mine.
Just money.
I know. sad!
But anyways back to the ORAC levels found in the muscadine grape seeds. What this means is that when you consume the grape seeds and skins you are getting a very level of antioxidants which will help NEUTRALIZE any chemicals and toxins that are coming into your body.
This is HUGE!
